I have a 75 gallon aquarium and currently have Coral Life pro PC lighting and it is only 4 months old. I dont think its enough light for what I want to get going, LPS, SPS and some fish along with a clam. What is big advantage of MH with T5 or would the T5 setup be enough for me. 1000 dollars is alot of bank for some lights. My aquarium is an Oceanic with a 12 inch center glass brace. Will the light even fit on aquarium with brace and it has the standard canopy.
Thanks, Scott

Scott,
Thank you for your interest in Aquactinics. For what you want to do, PC lighting isn't enough. The big advantage of MHs and/or T5s is that they are more intense lighting, penetrating further down into the tank to give you the intensity you need. The 12" center glass brace will not be a problem at all. A 48" MH/T5 fixture with dual 250W halides would run you around $750 w/ lamps. If this is too much for your wallet, then there is always our 48" T5 fixture at $290 plus lamps. Our fixture typically will fit inside a standard canopy. Please check dimensions of canopy first. All you would need to do is make sure that the vent holes on both side of the fixture are unobstructed.
Thank you,
Tom

After reading some more I think T5's would be fine for me. I dont have to have the shimmer :) Plus less electricity and heat. I do like the moon lights I have on my Coral life setup now. Can you incorporate the moon lights on unit. Also can I have a glass canopy on aquarium or do you recommend removing??
Thanks, Getting close to ordering. Scott

Scott,
Currently moonlights are not available on the T5 fixtures. There are moonlight add-ons that can be placed inside the fixture ( resting on the splash shield ) or you can use those moonlights and rest them on the glass top. A glass top on the tank is fine. You don't have to remove it.
Thank you,
Tom

What bulb configuration should I go with if I get the T5 only system. I am getting ready to order :)

Scott,
The most common setup has been 1 Sun Pro, 2 Ocean Pro, and 2 Blue Pro. This gives you a nice white looking tank. If you want something more on the blue side you can go with 3 Ocean Pro and 2 Blue pro. If you like the 20K halide look then 2 Ocean Pro and 3 Blue pro.
Thank you,
Tom
