I am sorta undecided but plan on going with a Porcupine and a Spiny box for a 90g. They are 1.5-2.5" and I think they should do okay with each other. I thought two porcs would just end up being trouble down the road unless I somehow got a pair. Also a 90g wouldn't be able to keep two adult porcs well I dont think.
My other option is to get one dogface, a bursa trigger and a sharpnose valitini (sp?)puffer

A porcupine will need a 90gal to himself. Always stock your tank with the adult size of fish. A porc will get between 18" and 20". A 90gal is almost too small. Go with the others.

If the porc is only 2" or so you have A LONG TIME until it reahes 18-20"!!!!! Go for it. make sure hes healthy and you should be fine for quite some time.

ALso of note, the spiney box doesn't get as big as the porky....they usually top out around 10" or so in the home aquarium. That said, they are messy SOB's so plan filtration/skimming accordingly.
Porky's do get big and it takes a couple years but the Spiney is the more responsible long term choice unless you have a 150+ gallon ready to go. If you stick 50-75 bucks a month aside for the bigger tank you should be able to afford it by the time the puffer needs it. Don't want to have that side budget? Just go with the Spiney and be happy.
