I bought a new piece of brain coral yesterday and noticed there was 1 aiptasia stalk growing out of the bottom, how should I remove it? Just rip it off or what?

I have a leather that came in with an aiptasia growing on the base. I just squirted a little "Stop Aiptasia" (joes juice, sam thing) around it and it detached. I wouldn't rip it off because any peice left behind will become a new aiptasia.
well, I've set coral specimens onto aiptasia before, and that seems to discourage them. But scraping it off with a thumbnail is a good way to get rid of them: think of family involvement---"C'mere, darlin'....would you do this little job for me?"

I got an aiptasia on a zoanthid frag a couple months ago. I injected boiling water into it with a syringe (my dog has diabetes, so I have plenty of those handy). That killed the aiptasia and I haven't seen any since.

I inject mine with a stronge kalk mix. It is such a little dose that the tank doesn't notice but the aptasia is history.
