weird worm

I was looking at my aquarium and saw a weird whitish worm in my sand...I tried getting him out but he jumped and burrowed in another part of my sand. What could this be and how do I rid of it or do I need to and what causes it ? please help
he was about half an inch long...

Generally you do not need to mess with worms - while I have no idea what it is, most of them just help with eating dead fish and detrious.

Unless you see him doing something bad, I would just leave him alone.
