hmm... now after I went to Home Depot and purchased a sheet of acrylic I'm worried that my refugium I'm building won't be strong enough. I have Weld-on ready to join the seams. I have worked with this same acrylic last year when redoing the baffles in my current Lifereef sump. Do I need cast acrylic or will the Home Depot stuff be strong enough?

I built my sump out of cast sheet, 1/4 inch thick, works just fine.
What thickness are you using? Also, what are the overall dimensions of the sump and the dimensions of the different chambers if any?

1/4 inch thick sheet. Dimensions are 26 x 16x 16.

You will need to brace the middle if it is all one compartment. The ends will bow out a little but it will hold if the seams are properly done

sorry, I will have three compartments-so that should increase the overall strength I think.
