Thanks

I've used both and I like the Ushio. I like the more white over the blue look but a lot of people that have come over like the bluer bulb. The ushio appears to be brighter to me also.

Here are a pic of each I took to compare for someone else that was interested in both bulbs... He was planning on using electronic IceCap ballast and Blue+ T5 Actinic so this is what the pics are of. No camera flash, just aquarium lighting.

Those Ushio 14K 250 look nice.... i like them better than the AC14's ...

BTW ..be careful with the BTA and the streams... I had mine walk into my 6000 and made into soup.

I have a 70RR 36x18x25 and am planning on 2 x 250 MH only on IceCap electronic balasts with PFO mini pendants. Is the PAR any different between these two? What about bulb life? Thanks again.

I've had a BTA and streams for about 2 years... BTA 3.

Sanjay said the PAR on the Ushio 14k was very close to that of the Ushio/BLV 10k... To my eyes the Ushio looks a lot brighterthan the AQ, but of course my eyes arent par meters. :D

To be honest I have only been using the Ushio for about 4 months so I cant really say on the bulb life but I will say In 1.5 years of using the AC14k I thought it fell off rather quick.

I love my Ushio 14Ks. If you want a very white bulb this might be the bulb for you. There is not alotof blue though.... think of it as a 10K minus most of the yellow

Good luck with the flow, never seem to get mine just as I would like. :D

There is no Sanjay data on the Ushio 14k, That info come from a PM I had sent to him. He tested the bulb but (as far as I know) never published any results.

Shawn, Stalker. :D
Like he said, if you like white, Ushio 14k is the bulb. I will add tho, it took mine a good 2-3 weeks to burn into that crisp white. So keep that in mind...
