Nassarius OK without sand for a short period

I'm going to be setting up a new tank withing the next 2 weeks I'll be breaking down another tank, but because of some "undesirables" in the sand bed, I won't be using any of that sand. I have some live rock in a tub with circulation that I'm going to be using in the new setup. I also have a small container with some southdown and rubble to culture it to use in addition to whatever dry sand I will need.

I have a bunch of nassarius snails in the tank that I'll be breaking down. Will they be OK for a couple of weeks in a tank with LR and a small tub of sand? I can place them in that small tub, but there are no guarantees that they will stay there.

Thoughts?

I use to keep 2000-3000 for a week or so, bare bottom and all, no problems ever. Just don't keep a lot of light on them.
