In doing water changes to reduce NO3 levels, I can see that my water has that slight yellow tint that is probably the result of micro algae (if not, what else?). And water clarity is just not crystal. About every 3 days I can really see a good coat of algae building up on the tank front, so that I now scrap the glass every other day. Getting the NO3 down (mud/mangrove refugium; denitrator, more live rock) should help reduce blooms, but I have heard from a friend great stories about using UV. She's got a CoraLife 3X turbo-twist and raves about it. Has anyone every bought a UV and then regretted it? Or considered it a waste, or not the answer to your problem?

The biggest difference I noticed in the color of my water from yellow to clear was the use of an ozone generator. When I did a water change the color was only slight from old to new.
With just a UV i did not notice any clarity change really.
