I do not have a phosphate reactor as of yet and was going to place the media in a filter bag and have my skimmer flow water through sock as it goes into sump. The directions say to leave for 8 hours to 2 days maximm because phosphates can be rereleased into aquarium on intial charge if left in system continously. How do people use this product and how long do you leave before recharging (bake for 1 hour at 450 degrees)?

i caution the use of this. use a iron based sponge. the aluminum based ones could kill your softies.

Thank you for the info. "On the package" it says this product will not release soluble aluminum compounds into your aquarium, causing negative reactions from your inverts. Maybe Kent is iron based?
How long is the media good for when people use in a filter sock or reactor?
