The tank is a DIY acrylic 12 in cube w/ a ~12 gallon DIY sump. I've finally saved enough money for a skimmer. I was originally planning on the ASM mini but heard a few bad reviews. What do yall think my best choice skimmer would be. Space in sump is limited to 9.5W x 10L x 22H.

Heres the tank thread http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=858466

I have a 10 Gallon AGA aquarium as a DIY sump on my 10 gallon reef. I was able to fit the Tunze Nano Skimmer in with no problem. It works very well and does not put micro bubles into the tank. I get about a half cup of skimmate every three days. A little sensitive to feeding time but after an hour or two it is right back to skimming. Great Product.

I have the ASM 2 for my larger tank, would recomend it any day, works great. I've never had to mess with it, just plug it in and go! I of course haven't experinced the mini, but if it's as good I would go for it.
