1. Are they leaky?

One person tried a 2500 on a CL and said it was leaky no matter how he plumbed it. Is this one faulty pump, or are they all just better off under water?

2. How quiet compared with they Eheim pumps?

3. Do they restart after power failure?

I'm considering a 2500 for my return and a 3500 for my CL on a 36g corner bowfront *if they are not leaky & are quiet*. The Eheims are pretty expensive and i'm not rich so these are looking good.

Thanks,

The ocean runner pump I have (2700, for a skimmer) has metric fittings. Thats probably why your friend couldnt get his to stop leaking: he was using 2 different sizes of plumbing.

eew, can you get pvc couplers that go metric to american units?

How is the noise of your pump? I think the 2700 is the needlewheel which is different than the 2500. Needlewheel are good for skimmer only, right?

Right, theyre Needlewheels for the skimmer, but its the same actual pump, just a different impellor. Its dead silent.

Glad to know it is silent. Now, I just need to look to see if I can find metric to AE couplings and i'll be set. I am looking to use the 2500 for my return and i'll want the output to be 1" or 3/4". I need the 3500 for a CL and it needs to go to 3/4" to go through my OM Squirt.

Thanks,
