Hi,

I am looking at setting up some QT tanks for hypo and copper treatments, and the issue of dimensions has me a little confused.

What is the general school of thought on sizes for hospital/quarantine tanks?

For instance, I had a 3x2x2 tank in mind, but was curious whether this would be good enough for my 5" dogface now, or even in the future (if the case need be).

The alternative size I was considering was 3x3x2. Would this be overkill for QT/etc given the water volume involved (and the treatment that would need to be added!)?

Thanks in advance.

Either tank would be adequate, even for a larger fish. Given the limited time a fish will spend in quarantine, the tank should be large enough for the fish to move about in a fairly unrestricted manner. I use a 40 gallon breeder for my QT.
