My 3 kids were next to me watching it and my 5 yr old nature boy is a little teary eyed and said "mommy, that was sad wasn't it?" The 3 & 7 yr old want to watch it again though!

That was an awesome video!

If I was the fisherman landing my first tarpon i'd be a little peeved

my friends have told me that bull sharks have caught on to this ploy and will often wait under the boats, waiting for exhausted fish to be reeled in

another reason not to mix fishing and swimming in the same trip

That was filmed in Boca Grand Pass and if you go there and watch (from May to about this time of year) them fishing you will proubuably see someone lose a tarpon to a shark.

About 4 years ago I was fishing in Boca Grand Pass and had about a 140 pound tarpon under the boat when about a 6 foot bull shark came up and grabed the tarpon around the stomach. I thought the bull shark was going to pin the tarpon against the boat to get a better bite, but at the last minute it turned into the depths with the tarpon in its mouth. I was yelling for my fishing partner to cut the line so the tarpon might have a chance to escape. We cut the line and the shark swam off with the tarpon in its mouth. I don't know what happened to the tarpon or the shark. But I hope the tarpon got off.

Another shark story. I was out fishing two weekends ago over the flats off Anclote Key. I was in about 5 feet of water fishing for trout. We floated over a sand hole. I thought I saw an outline of a large bull shark. The outline looked at least 3' wide. I was like no way my brain is playing tricks on me. Then I looked again and the outline rose off the bottom and began to slowly swim away and man was that shark huge. The largest shark I have ever seen the in the wild. It was over 7 feet long and very thick. I use to swim in the gulf. I will now think twice. (-:

That sucker was huge.
