I had two black clownfish and one decided to jump into the back of the nano cube and landed on a filter and died. So I bought a second one to pair up with the first. Everything seemed fined and they followed each other all over the tank. Now I have noticed after being in the tank for over 3 weeks, the past few days the new guy has been off in the corner by himself and looks skinny. I feed the tank a few times a day with a variety of stuff----flake food and shrimp. He used to eat well and explore the tank, but seems to be shying away. Im worried, is he sick or stressed?? I have other fish in the tank but nobody bothers him that I can see. The older clown fish comes down and hangs out once in awhile with the little one, but then goes back to exploring the tank. Tank params are ok.

what should i do?

The newbie might have internal parasites...you could move him to a QT tank and treat him. Another possibility would be that the other clownfish is harassing the new one and stressing him out. Just my $.02 :)

Metronidazole - Mix it in with the fish food. It's safe for all fish and inverts.

As stated make sure the other clown is not kicking around the new one, that will cause stress - illness - death.

he didnt make it. i left the house for the day and when i got back he looked horrible. he had lost his color and strength. its crazy how fast his health went down hill in a matter of couple days. i guess i will watch the rest of the tank for anything odd.
