I am planning on having 2 backup containers of water for my upcoming tank. I was planning on one of plain RO water for top-offs and a second prepared with salt for water changes. Is this a solid plan and if so do I need heaters in both or some kind of pump in both to keep them circulating ??? Any feedback is helpful.
thanks
brian

Brian.....I use one of those blue 55 gal plastic drums. I drip my RO into it and I have two small powerheads and small pond pump/fountain inside the tub to keep the water circulating so the salt doesnt settle. I don't keep a heater in it but then I add water a little more often with smaller amounts so the temp flux isn't so great when it goes in the sump.

Hope that helps !

I'm glad someone else had this question too. I am planning on doing the same thing and was wondering if I whould have any problems.

I would suggest heated for water change. Also, PH should be at or near that of the display tank. When water changing you don't want to shock the system w/ fluctuating parameters.
