lol, one of my shrimp won't stay out of my derasa (8 inches). It sanpped shut on the shrimp couple weeks back, taking one of its legs off. I haven't seen the shrimp in there since.

Ewww, you got clam juice on your face.

Every single time I do a water change I get shot right in the face by the crocea... You would think I woulda learned by now. They can fire water pretty far.

one time when I was trying to catch a fish, the net brushed up against my clam, and it snapped shut on the net. Nothing I did would get the clam off. I ended up leaving the net in the tank for a day and a half, until the clam let go.

I remember seeing a couple of pics in the past, both were fish that had been trapped in clams. One was an angel that was caught by the face I think (it died). the other was a hepatus tang I believe. It lived (amazingly), after being caught for quite awile.

I've never been shot in the face, but i'm always afraid of getting my finger snapped if i'm not careful!

Clam juice is just gross, Roons! lol

an unidentified clam which I had received as a 'live rock' with hairy mushrooms on it shut on my beloved yellow clown goby (number three. I cant bring myself to buy another; all 3 have died senseless, trajic accidental deaths...) :(

They have a nervous system and one big muscle. My derasa can shoot water from where he is on the bottom right side of my tank up to and past the overflow on the upper left side of the tank.

Maybe it's the 'grapefruit effect'

You know, every time you stick your spoon in the grapefruit it shoots you in the eye. I think it's a sublaw of Murphies.

My clam shot water in my eye when I was acclimating him. I got some in my eye and it hurt pretty bad.

Mine always does that if is exposed to air after a big water change. Its like a knee jerk reaction or something. Nothing to worry about though.
