How come when I post some they are great size and when I post others they seem reduced?

It depends on the size of the image and the place you host them with. I usually resize all images to 640 x 480 when getting them ready to share on the web.

I use www.pixpipeline.com

If you upload a full size image (as long as it is under 3.5MB) it will auto reduce size, and also give it an USM

You can then post the reduced sized image directly into a forum, or you link to the original full res copy for download.

They do NOT add any watermarks, or force you to link to there site (except for full res copys).

It is a free service, with up to 100MB of storage. I have been very pleased with it.
