MASNA 2006 PHOTO CONTEST

The Marine Aquarium Societies of North America, Inc. (MASNA) is proud to be sponsoring its Photo Contest for a second year!


The contest includes the following four categories and is being judged by four internationally recognized marine aquarium authors and experts including:

Coral – Eric Borneman
Marine Fish - Scott Michael
Marine Invertebrates - Daniel Knop
Marine Macro Images - Anthony Calfo

Not only will your entries be judged by these distinguished experts, but each winner (three from each category) will be awarded a cash prize as well as have their winning photograph and their name included in the 2007 MASNA Calendar on sale at MACNA XVIII (http://www.macnaxviii.com) this September.

The cash prizes for each category will be:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place - $50
3rd Place - $25

The deadline for submitting your entries is July 26th, 2006.

All those who are either a current MASNA Individual member or a current member of a current MASNA Club can enter the contest for free! If you're not currently a member, then please consider joining MASNA for just $5 or one of over 40 MASNA clubs (listed at the end of the Photo Contest Forms).

Exellent! Don't be afraid to try folks! The cash prizes aren't huge, but wouldn't it be fun to have your picture chosen for a calendar that will end up on people's walls all over the country?!

so do we have to submit a completed form with each picture?

and the form says the deadline is the 31st, this post says 26th, which is it?

I think the 31st is a typo as both dates say Wednesday. I submitted a form (2 pages) with each submission.

On what date will the MASNA be judging the photos?

Mia culpa! The deadline was supposed to be 7/26, but since I'd actually mistakenly told some people 7/31, we've extended the deadline to 7/31!!

Judging will begin as soon as we are certain we have received all snail mail entries that we've been informed of. Snailmail must be postmarked by 7/31. I would hope if someone has sent a CD or DVD that they would inform us that via an eMAIL. We want to give our judges as much time as we can, so we'll start the judging as soon as possible.

I'll send an e-mail, but I sent mine UPS 2nd day air yesterday from work. being in GA, it'll probably be there today.
