ok for my fuge, can I buy one of those screw in adapters that fits two bulbs into one socket, they sell them everywhere for like 2 bucks. the bulbs I am using are the CF screw in type like in the picture. what i want to do is increase lighting in my HOB fuge and only have room for one clamp on light. Since these bulbs are only like 18W and 27W, but are equal to higher bulbs, what i'm asking basically is by putting two 27W bulbs in there (54W) that shouldn't go over the 100W MAX bulb rating for these fixtures right?

do a simple and un-scientific test: put in one bulb and turn on the light. check the brightness. then put on the adapter with both bulbs and turn it on. if the bulbs appear dimmer, i woudn't do it, but if the light output seems the same, you should be ok.

just my 2 cents.

I would imagine that with the the flourescent bulbs, you shouldn't have any trouble. They use much less electricity than the incandescent bulbs...

The primary reason for the ratings on fixtures is heat. What the label is really telling you is don't put anything that gets hotter than a couple of 100 watt incadecent bulbs in here. In your case, no problem.
