question: storing RO/DI unit?

I had a small RO/DI unit I used for my reef tank (and Air/Water/Ice "Mighty Mite".

Then I had to leave the country for a year, so I took down my reef and put the RO/DI unit in storage.

Question: is the membrane any good? Can you store a unit and let the membrane dry out and it will still work after that? I thought membranes are supposed to be good for 2-3 years but I wonder if I've ruined mine now.

(The thing is: the "Mighty Mite" is a portable unit, so I assume that it dries out between uses usually? I don't know)

Usually the membrane will hold water unless it is emptied. If the membrane is dry, I would replace it.
Crack here open and see if it is wet. Either way I would replace it after that amount of time.
