i have one asptasia growing on one ofmy corals, whats the best way to get rid of it? can i still use vinegar, or should i try plucking it out with tweezers? will that work?

i'm a bit aprehensive putting anything straight onto my coral, if it was on the rock then i wouldn't be worried. i could even take the whole coral out and use a syringe to put hot water on it.

Whats the best method.

since you probably can't tell, it's the same aiptasia that is in the aiptasia control forum in the blue picture in the centre of the bottom row.

A little bit of lemon juice or kalk past will hook them right up. Inject right in the center and they should die off real quick.

Best if practiced while siphoning at the same time to catch the nematocysts that it will release in defense...especially since it's so close to your "good" coral. This will also catch the crap it releases to spread itself to other rock.

would it be best if i take the coral out of the tank and then do it, so that nothing is released into the water?

I think it would be ideal if you can take the rock that the coral's on out of the tank and, knowing exactly where the aiptasia is, you can put some very hot fresh water, vinegar or any other "deadly" liquid right onto the holes or places that the aiptasia are. That will almost definitely kill them without doing any damage to your coral. Be very careful to get it right onto the specific spots. You can use a hypo, or if you don't have one, even more carefully, use a turkey baster.
