Can anyone tell me how much media would be required in a MRC-CR6 Reactor (18 lbs of ARM Media capacity).
I have heard you need a lot less, maybe 1/2 the amount or so of Schuran media (The type from Aquatic Ecosystems) but I am not sure and do not want to order too much,

My geo reactor holds 8 pounds. I used about 8 pounds of schuran media. I didn't see a huge difference compared to the a.r.m. I used to use.

Did you buy your media from Aquatic Eco Systems and was it any finer?

Im not sure but it's a pretty big chamber about 15lbs the schuran media takes up much more room and you have to run more co2 compared to arm. Much lower ph.

How do you like this media as compared to ARM? Any problems so far? I read somewhere that the phosphates may be higher. Oh yes where did you buy your media from?
