More Blennies... must have more BLENNIES! :D

That's one of a pair of Tailspot Blennies in my tank- they are the coolest...

Greg, are the starry and the tailspots in the same tank?

If so have you had any problems with them fighting?

gregr

Yep- same tank. There's no aggression between the Starry and Tailspots- the Ember Blenny... he's another story. Took him months til he was comfortable- he was a rare sight for maybe 4 months but now he's out all the time, and when he sees the Starry Blenny he postures- but as far as I can tell the Starry is totally indifferent- acts like the Ember is a nobody :p
There's a Redspot Blenny in there too:
http://www.gregrothschildphotography.com/mytank7-06/blenny79_std.jpg The Ember is the only one that acts aggressivley towards it but I've never seen worse than posturing (at which point the Redspot swims away).

Nice, thanks for the info! I was asking because I really liked the tailspots and was thinking about getting one after seeing them a lot around here, but just steered clear since I figured they would go after it. How did you get your pair? Were they paired up when you bought them or did you introduce them at different times? How can you sex them?

A much older shot taken with ole Cannon PS.

How did you get your pair? It was pure luck- I had the bigger one for about 6 months and found the second one- a much smaller fish and added it thinking they could stay out of each other's way in a five foot long tank. They didn't notice one another for a couple months and once they did they've been together ever since :)

gregr,

Do you have any issues with your Blennies fighting, how many do you have in your tank?

Geo

I got me a mess o blennies. two barnacle blennies- they tolerate each other but are not friendly exactly. aside from them the only aggression is from the ember- he's very shy but when he sees the starry he chases him away. the pair of tailspots get along with everyone, as does the red spotted blenny. oh yeah- the midas ignores all other fish and they ignore him back.

addam4208283 - your best bet for learning about the compatiblity issues is the Reef Fishes forum (http://reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&forumid=88).
