I am ready for a start at my clean up crew. I currently have 30 lbs of live rock in my 29 gal tank and need to know the numbers of snails I need to put in. I really don't want any crabs or shrimp so let me start like this.

These are the fish I am planning on putting in over the next few months:
2 Clowns
1 Flame Angle
1 lawnmower blenny

I am hoping on adding the clowns a the next few weeks

Now for the snail.
Cerith- I have about a 2 1/2 maybe a little more deep sand bed and turbos

How many of each or can you recommend something different

Brittle star- I have read that they are real good for cleaning up the tank but is my tank big enough for one? Also I have read that the can eat feather dusters, is this true I have about 5 or 6 real small ones(about 1/4 inch) that came on my rock that I would like to leave alone. Thanks for the help

I would add 10 Astrea and 10 Nassarius and you should be set.

Have a 30 gallon with:

8 Nassarius
1 Astrea
3 Margarita
5 Black Turbos
1 Mexican Turbos
1 Blue Legged Hermit

Probably going to add a few more Astrea and Black Turbos

I would add 2-3 cerith snails and see how it goes. If you can buy locally, that should be easy. Too many snails, and they'll starve or require supplemental feeding. Nassarius vibex eat mostly leftover food, so I'd add no more than 2-3 or so.

well I bought 2 Turbos not sure what kind but they are huge and 5 Astrea. They were out of Nassarius so I will go and get five next week (he should have some in by then). If I see that the turbos tend to be a problem being that they are so big I will just give one to my neighbor he has a 150 gal tank that could use another one.

That depends on what needs cleaning. Some animals are better on rock, some on sand. What's looking badly?
