I've had a hard time finding any reviews of this salt online. Just post review here. It'll be sufficient and useful to other prospective buyers.

Some of the Zeovit users are having a problem with it and it's being advised not to use. I do not think I can post a link to the thread but it is in the general discussion forum.

I just got a new bucket at the end of June for my first time using it. The first thing I do with any new salt bucket is run tests on my first batch to make sure everything is okay. Results where;

PH 8.3 (Salifert)
Calc 470 (Salifert)
Alk 9.6 (Salifert)
Mg 1125 (SeaChem)

My understanding is there was a bad batch a few months ago, and some stores didn't pull the stock and send back like they should of. I ordered mine from DF&S, and they didn't have Seachem for a month while they returned/got new supply in.

better check your borate alk.

and also, mg of 1125 is pretty low for a salt meant for reef tanks to mix at.

I don't know that seems like a pretty normal MG number, my last batch of TM Pro tested lower (1050) and my last Kent higher (1270). I switch salts every large bucket. I figure every salt is higher/lower than NSW levels in all the minor elements so if you stick with one you'll generate problematic #'s in the long run, so ideally switching around a bit should keep from getting huge buildups/deficentcies.

I've also found that the Salifert test seems to include borate alkalinity in it's total. I probably will run a seperate borate alk test using a salifert kit and a seachem kit, but it shoudl be around 2.5 dkh, which would put the bicarbonate alk at 7dkh (which is NSW), which would be ideal. If this thread still somewhat active will post something here next few days.

strange...last batch of tm pro i used i tested mg (salifert), and i used the whole syringe with no color change, so i just stopped. higher than normal in other words (above 1500). tank readings stay right at 1410 consistently, only mg added to my tank is with tm pro weekly water changes. one time i slacked off and didnt do a wc for close to a month, and mg dipped down to 1380.

maybe this is yet another example in a long line of seachem/salifert test kit differences. what SG do you mix your salt to?

the seachem mg kit you are using has a borate alk. test included, although i have heard that it tests significantly lower than all other tests.
