my tank is fairly new, only been running for about 5 weeks. I have a about 15 snails, 2 of them died the other nightas well. about 12 hermit crabs. a bunch of very very very weird creatures that come out at night and a cleaner shrimp. theres some stuff on the live rock, i know there is some aiptasia but not that much and there is small featherdusters. my tank is a 44 gal hex

How long ago did your tank finish cycling?
Did you make any changes recently?
Do you have any current test results?

my tank finished cycling about 2 weeks ago. However i never had any spikes. the parameters stayed the same the whole time. ammonia none, nitrites 0 and nitrates between 10-20 . my water temperature stayes between 78-80. my chromis and damsel just dissapeared, bodies were not found. however my skunk clown i found the body, before it died it did have a bunch of white spots on it and didnt look to healthy. i didnt know what to do as i thought it would get better over time. the damsel was always very lively and healthy looking but it did sleep in the caves of the live rock at nights so i believe something ate him

i hear this clicking sound every 10-15 minutes, its just one loud click. i made a post earlier about me seeing some kind of thin animal with lots of legs and long antenae coming out of one of the holes in the live rock the other night

Sounds like you have a mantis shrimp or a really aggressive pistol shrimp. You should try to catch it before it kills and eats the rest of your tank's inhabitants.

a mantis is kely yor problem get a flash light with a red lense and do a steak out if you can locate the rock he is on remove it, then isolate the rock some where else

There's a forum just for mantis shrimp, if you scroll down the list a little.

Here's a post from it that has pix:

in the tank there is also a emerald crab and something what people on this forum believe it to be a teddy bear crab, could those guys be doing damage?
