What are the best/cheapest gloves to use when reaching in your saltwater tank and where did you find them? Are there any types of glove material that you should avoid coming in contact with your water/animals? I have a box of disposable (short) gloves I got in the paint dept. of Home Depot, but I don't know if they are latex or what. Thanks.

I use Purple Nitrile Examination gloves. You can find them at Walgreens or Eckerds, probably any drug store will carry them and they are latex + cornstarch free :). They were only about $4. Good luck!

Thanks so much. I'll look for them on my lunch hr. today. My LFS had gloves for $12.95, so you saved me some $$.

Hope this doesn't mess you up but I just re-read my post and they are "Latex Free" and made of nitrile. Not made of latex. Some how I left out a very important word("NOT"). Glad I could help!

No problem, I got a box of 40 for $5.45 from Walgreen's. I guess you use them once and toss 'em out. I wish they made ones that were longer.

Corallife makes a pair called the Aqua Gloves that are intended for long term use. I bought a pair, and they leak like a sieve.

Thanks for the link, Steven. I'll definitely try a pair of those.

Those are good, just a little to thick for my taste. I like to be able to feel the coral, especially with fragil ones so I don't break them with my big ol hands :)
