How long are everyone running their lights in their tanks for. I switched over from Power Compacts to T5's a month ago and now I am getting some nasty hair algae for some reason. I have done all the water test and there are no traceable amounts of anything bad in the water. I have been running the lights for 12 hours a day. ???

I had a similar problem and cut my light from 10 to 6 hrs. and it helped with my fight against the evil GHA.

I run the halides about 7 hrs /day Actinics around 12 hrs/day

Actinics 12 hours Actinic White 10 hours. No halides.
