I have a little refugium (my first) on a 55 gallon. Not really any corals but a few shrooms in the 55. I can't believe how well the fuge keeps algae/nitrates under control.

The fuge has 3-4 different types of macros in it. It was also COVERED inside with algae. I know that's what it is supposed to do and that's great.

While tradiing macros from the fuge and another 55, a sea hare (only an inch long at best) made it into the fuge. Now the sides of the fuge are clear and I can see in, and the plants look great!

Question: Do I need to get the sea hare out? Is he eating too much good stuff? I think he's great where he is (little 6 gallon fuge). Keeps the sides clean but doesn't eat the macro. My husband says he's eating all the things that keep my 55 algae free.

What do you think? Just wait and see?

I'd let the animal be. I doubt it's doing any harm at all, possibly helping, actually. If none of the algae it was eating was getting manually removed from the tank, the net effect in terms of nutrients was basically zero, anyway.
