How long before I test?

I am adding Magnesium (Kent Tech M) and Calcium (Kent Liquid Calcium) to boost my levels a bit per a former post here. After adding how long do I need to wait to see if the parameters are different? Is a couple of hours sufficient? Thanks.

That should be fine. Do not raise the calcium more than 20ppm / day and the Magnesium more than 50 ppm /day. Check Alk, pH, Mg++ and Ca++ each day before you add anyomore.
