I recently bought a few blue legged hermits, and while doing so asked for a couple of empty shells that were in the tank as well. Among the "empty" shells they gave me was this:

sorry if the pics are not exactly perfect and from a bad angle, but I couldn't get any better from him, and could not get a good focus for some reason tonight (I think my brain melted).

Anyway, it is about 1" long, green with lighter green dots all over the shell, even has the little spiral worms growing on the shell :). I dont see any tube extending yet from him, but he prefers to graze the sand and not be on the glass. He seems to 'lug' his shell around similar to a crab, instead of the usual smooth snail movement.

I've looked around a bit, even looked at some links in other posts to hitchhikers, etc, and cant seem to find a match.

Anybody know what it is?

about an hour after I posted, i noticed he had been cleaning the glass. There *was* a patch of what I think may have been cyano that now looks like someone windexed it... crystal clear.

I'm going back to see if I can find any more of these at the store I got him at. Most of what they have are trochus, and I'll have to hunt around their tanks for another one. I do know I definately want a nother one or two.
