Eh, try and find somebody close (were you could pick it up).

Anything out of state for you, especially with that size tank, is going to be bad, shipping will be costly.

Also, are you going glass or acrylic?

Sunny,

shipping is probably very expense, right?

It will most likely run you $200-300 for shipping alone, but the workmenship is second to none.

I recently got a quote on a 48x28x24 from them. 3-side starphire, special drillings for closed loop, black silicone and completely braceless up top (just glass edges, no euro-brace, no trim), and it was very surprisingly inexpensive, all things considered. However, I didn't get a shipping cost.

A club member had a 7'x4'x2' built by the same people, and he mentioned shipping was about the same cost as the tank, to central CA. A big rig showed up at his door.

Close to you is MRC (north georgia) if you want acrylic, check their website. Probably where I'm getting my next tank, as soon as I think the wife won't kill me in my sleep if I get it. ;)

Miracles will cost more then that. You might want to call glasscages! :)

glass cages is in TN. they'll also deliver it to one of their shows for really cheap. I pick up my 58 tomorrow, and the shipping to NYC was $50.

LOL. It's still less than half what I paid for my tank before the $700 in shipping... My word, if I could do it all over again:)

Mike

sounds good to me 2 for a better price than one...who do you have in mind for building and delivering the tank?? Since we are in close proximaty to each other the tanks can be delivered to one place!!

dean..i was thinking of either glass cages or bow valley (old interamerican) if i went with glass. glass cages has a show here in raleigh on spet 9 and they can deliver the tanks there for pickup at a reduced rate.

if i went acrylic, i might go with myreef, hes alot closer to us than ony other places ive looked at and his prices were much better.

how soon are you looking to order?

I would go with Envision Acrylics. No one makes a better acrylic tank! Heres the link.

ryan..i talked to james about the tank, and i believe his quote was around $2500...im still unsure if im going glass or acrylic, i want to get as many quotes in as i can before i decide.

dean..i emailed glass cages with a description of the tanks. i didnt know quantity and location of where you wanted holes drilled, but from the detail i gave regarding my tank, im sure we can make an educated guess. i also inquired about a discount if we oredered 2 at once. the only difference between my tank and yours, is i requested it be 30" tall instead of 24". hopefully ill hear something today.

Just remember dont go cheap on the tank. All or your equipment and livestock will be worth 4 times as much. Later Ryan

just a thought, if your going with a tank with that much width I think 30in tall would look 3 times as good unless you had a stand that put the tank at eye level

my tank will be 30" tall ...dean wanted 24" tall.

ryan, i am quite familiar with the cost of other items. i just took down my custom 360 gallon in may....thanks for the info though.

I've gotten a few tanks now from Will at Aquarium Obsessed, excellent quality each time. If you're going for starfire glass, I'd recommend him.
