Help! It looks like my clam fell on it's side, and now I see a fat glob of bysall threading (white). The clam is still responsive to light and closes upon touch.

I'm just worried that it dropped it's bysal threads (foot?)

I tried to use a turkey baster to suck it out, but some of it was still connected to the bottom o the clam SO now this glob of threading about the size of a quarter circumference, is just laying next to the clam.

What should I do? is it normal?

I would also suggest not messing with it byssal gland too much either, especially trying to suck it up with a turkey baster.
