i change 2-3 gallons every week on mine. with such a little tank, it is the best way to keep nutrients down and keep things consistant.

1-2 gallons every week!

I turn off the return pump and syphon all that water out first! It get's some nasty buildup in those rear chambers!

I do 2 changes a week of between 1-3 gallons each, but then again I've got a heavy bioload for only 12 gallons.

2 gallons every 7-10 days, but no real bioload yet, just getting in the habit when the bioload does come.

By what mechanism do you get the water out of the rear chambers? Do you drop in a small powerhead with a hose attached or use a turkey baster or some other way?

Get yourself a goof reef book. There are many good ones.
