I've been getting mixed responses regarding adding asterinas to my reef (actually, will be in my fuge). I've heard that some if not all are possible coral munchers?? just hoping my fellow reefers can shed some light on this topic.

thanx

Good

they are good grazers but will consume corraline algae (at small rates) and some people have reported them eating polyps but that could be certian species and/or it could have been eating micro algae forming on an already disesied coral. I think these guys are have a reputation comparable to bristle worms ... for the most part good but every once and a while you hear something bad.

thanks for the 411!
I kinda figured that the little buggers were getting a bad rep... but like anything else (unidentifiable hitchhikers) you just have to keep a watchful eye
