I'm seriously thinking about it but will wait and see if the price drops.

I would wait a while. This is the first one out, that isn't DIY and I am sure it will get better quickly and cheaper. I saw one at a trade show and was not impressed. At $800+ bucks and it can't beat a 250 Radium, you have to be joking.

From their site:

"The Solaris reads 178 PAR vs 133 PAR for the 250W Radium Bulb."

$2900 to cover my 120gal I'm going to be waiting awhile. If i spend $300 a year on lighting it will still take me 10 years to cover the cost!

I don't trust those numbers for a second. The website even says they are waiting for independent results. I will wait for what Sanjay has to say as the numbers don't look right.
I saw them with my own eyes, and it didn't look right.

I am not saying it is a bad product. I have an DIY LED tank that kicks butt and I believe in the technology. I am just saying this is the first one for early adopters. You will see these 2x as good at 1/2 the price withing 2 years if they work.
