i would not consider myself new to this hobby...but ive been having Alk problems and the buffer supplement i got with this test kit just isnt doing it...my Alk is sitting at around 2.2 milli which is the equivalent to 6.16 dKH...id like to raise it to around 10dKH to help with coralin growth and whatnot...this supplement adds it VERY slowly..(was like 1.4 after cycle for some reason i have yet to figure out)...any ideas and just how slowly should i be adding any supplements to raise it...waterchanges havent helped if thats an option i do about a 5 Gal WC on this 40 Gal. tank a week

ok well never had this problem before so for the baking soda thing a few questions...could i mix plain old baking soda in with water for a WC without any negative effects or shouldi really cook it first and follow those directions
