Any leads on a 18-200mm VR II Nikkor Lens?

I've been searching for this lens for awhile, and I can't find it in stock anywhere! Anybody know of any stores that might have this lens?

I've bought 3 of them between March and late June through the buy/sell forums at www.fredmiranda.com ranging in price from 750-810. They pop up once in a while and some members sell their mint copies at the same price they bought it for in contrast to ebay where they're going for close to 1k.

they come up once in a while. i don't have a sniping tool but i did get fortunate a few times. the last one i bought i specifically got for a reefer friend and the other 2 i bought for myself, i never kept since i kept thinking that they were soon going to be widely available but the supply hasn't yet reached demand apparently. fm and nikoncafe is also a good source but wait a couple of months and they shd be readily available in the sub 700 range new.

yeah I was hoping to get this lens before I went to Italy in August =( looks like I'm unlucky.

I don't have a sniper tool either, I just meant I go and look all the time for the lens and PM the person right when he posts a lens. But usually it's sold or over $1000.

sent you pm. i found 2 leads for mint 18-200vr for around 850. made offers on both but nothing certain yet. if i get either or both, i can sell for the same price i got it for.

Just be careful you don't buy one with the 'international warranty', you'll be stuck if and when you ever want a repair.
