backup light?

I have a 30G mixed tank (some SPS and LPS) with LR and LS. My MH light went out and it will be about a week or a little longer before the RMA arrives. Should the corals last about a week without strong light? I have 120W of PC still on.

Do most people have a back up light on hand in case this type of thing happens?

A week on 120W of PCs should be fine. Think of it as a string of cloudy days on the reef.

Only use netting/screen to make the new lamp less intense on the corals...IMO you might burn them...also shorten the time they are on and slowly over 1-2 weeks bring them back to full intensity and time.
