100% pure cyanoacrylate (superglue gel) its reef safe when dried. Duro or 3M are some available. it doesnt matter the brand name as long as its 100% pure. REEF-ON!!!

Just push the pipe into the uniseals. No need for glueing.

Try to cut a very smooth hole in the tube and sand down any rough edges before putting in the uniseal. I used windex on the pipe to slide it into the uniseal.

im not talking about gluing the pipe into a uniseal. uniseals are only meant for pipe thicknesses up to 3/16" mine is 1/4". will it leak? or sould i just glue the pvc fitting to the acrylic tubing like this: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c290/brandon0350/Elbow20Weld20Bead20001.jpg

If you want to do it the best way, do it like this:

Get a couple piece of 1/2" thick acrylic, and grind it down so it matches the exterior of the pipe. Weld it on with acrylic solvent (weldon #4, or #16) and then drill through the block with a drill bit slightly smaller than the desired PVC size. You can then use a 3/4" or 1" pipe tap, and tap the pipe so that MPT PVC fittings can be screwed in.

what i do with the uniseals that works rather well and makes life easier when trying to push the pipe thru is, the day before your gonna add the uniseal slide the pipe thru the uniseal and let it sit like that till your about to install the uniseal then pull the pipe out and install the uniseal and then try and slide the pipe in using windex, this method stretches the uniseal just enough to make it easier.

I use uniseals all the time and never not once has one ever leaked on me. Knock on wood, lol

sorry guys my questions is " will a uniseal work on 1/4" thick tube when it is only rated for 3/16"? if not what glue would i use to connect the pvc to the acrylic tubing as in the previous picture?"

My first first uniseal leaks. It is at the bottom of my skimmer, lots of caulking finally has it dry.

I am using 4 on my skimmer 2 are 1" and 2 are 3/4".

Could it be that 1/4 is to small and will crush the pipe?

I've used uniseals on 1/4" and a little bigger with no problem. I've never heard that they were limited to 3/16. You should be fine, just make sure your hole sizes are EXACTLLY the size that is specified for the uniseal size otherwise you will leak...

I think that sch 40 goes down to 1/2". I have never seen sch40 1/4". Looks like you can't use a 1/4".

Is this connection under pressure? If not, you could drill a hole tap it and screw in a 1/4" fitting, that is what I did.

Looking back at your original post, I did a skimmer with a OR3700, what do you need the 1/4" tube for? I didn't have anything 1/4 except the air input.

As I said, I've personaly used them in thicker then 1/4 with no problems at all. If that company is tell you them I wouldn't order from them, they may not be the real ones aquaticeco.com is great I've order from them a lot and those uniseals are the real thing and work great.

Yeah the pictures are really hard to tell. Not only that do you notice that they do not call the Uniseals...
