I got some rock that has what I believe is GSPs on it, but after looking again and again, maybe not. Right now it is basically a purplish color mat and out of the holes are coming the tiny little grass looking things. The holes are round and have lots of tiny little holes in a circle. I cant get a good pic of it because it is so small. It just turns out blurry. Does anyone have any GSP mat pics or GSP just starting to grow??? I just want something to compare with. Thanks

That sounds like GSP to me. The mat is purple, it spreads out in lines, then fills in as it goes, the polyps extend from the mat.

yep it sounds like GSP. They also feel leathery to the touch if that helps. Where coraline feels more smooth.

OK i kinda did a crappy drawing in paint of what mine looks like. It has very small holes. The holes arent raised like that. They lie flat. My mat isnt that purple either and has actually been turning green. The hole looks like the holes you normally see in hard corals....It so hard to describe! Ive looked all over the net, cant find anything like it. Excuse the pic...gotta love paint!

The green "stuff" in the upper right corner of my pic is actually macroalgae (Halimeda to be exact). Those particular leaves seem to be on their way out, but I've been thinking at for over a month now and it hasn't kicked the bucket yet. My newer buds are a very bright green, beautiful accents if you ask me.

Lilprincess, I like the black substrate. Makes everything stand out more.

Thanks that's the main reason I chose it (also b/c I'm tired of seeing white).

I just like the tattoo you have on your face. Did that hurt?

Not quite. The face paint was a bit cold though. ;)

I am totally digging that substrate. I bet the white specs pop like crazy under actinic and moonlighting. Can you give some specifics on what you used?

thanks!

I used a mix of 20lbs Arag-alive Indo-Pacific Black sand with 20lbs of Tropic Isle Tahitian Moon sand.

Aha! It didn't look like anything I have seen before. Nice mix.
It really looks cool.

Thank you Princess.
