I was wondering if you thought this would work.
key:
pink- return pump
brown- water pipes
green- cheto
gray- CSS65
purple- the exit part of the corallife supper skimmer which will enter into the section with cheto

Do you think this will work. how does it sound. It will be about a 20 gallon tall tank or a 15 gallon tall not really sure my tank is a 29 gallon.
Thanks for any help puffer21

well if so the way you have it now the skimmer dump will disturb the fuge substrate

I don't see baffles you should let the skimmer spill right back into the first section and run a set of under-over-under baffles or micro bubbles are going to be a problem.

I did this, just silicone in some baffles, pretty easy and effective.

all the ideas I got from melvs reef and they were aswome, I had no problems.

I say my design is soo good because you can controll trhe flow in the fuge. This helps maintain a good pod supply.

Also their is a ballvalve on the excess flow and the fuge feed, I have the excess flow normaly closed but when I feed I open it to reduce the flow in the tank

heres a blue print of my sump/fuge

and a real pic after I made it

All good ideas, but make sure you leave enough room in there to hold the back flow when pump is off.

yeah I have only 15g running and when the "backflow" happens I have another 2.5g flow in but the tank is a 20g so I have plenty of room

measure how much space you have then figure the largest tank or sump that you can fit

just make sure you double check the info unless you are sure the person who gives it know what they are talking about.

You get a lot of bad info along with lots of good info :)
