I recently bought a kill-a-watt, been having fun measuring whatever aquarium equipment I could. Thought I'd post the numbers as they might be of interest to others:
Tunze stream 6100: 43w (full power)
Tunze stream 6200: 62w (full power)
Metal halides: 627w (bluewave VII magnetic ballast with dual 250w DE HQI)
T5 lights: 299w (Icecap 660 with 4x36" T5 HO bulbs, nominally 39w each)
Iwaki pump: 78w (model MD30RLXT)
H&S 200-1260 skimmer: 35w (pump=Eheim 1260 needlewheel)
The streams were very close to the manufacturer's numbers. The T5's on Icecap were higher than I expected, given that they are only 36" bulbs. The needlewheel Eheim on the skimmer was even lower than I expected.
