View Full Version : Black Urchins and overflows
I have had a couple of black urchins for a few years now and have gotten to large for the tank...they like to redecorate too much. Can they live in my overflows and clean it up? Otherwise i iwll need to get rid of them.

how big are they? i had three pencil urchins, they redecorate A LOT. I caught mine eating stony corals. One was actually eating a dead montipora I had, I was shaped like a cup can the urchin would just eat around the "rim". Once I saw that they went back to the LFS. Urchins are omnivores so they will eat almost anything, the book I have said there is only one kind that are good for grazing/clean up.

from what I read, Mespilla globulus (tuxedo urchin) or diadema setosum.
