i tesyed my water and ammo is 0 nitrites are 0 nitrates are 0 and my ph is 7.8 isnt this too low and how can i raise it?

baking soda is a cheap way to raise it with your 55 i would do 2 spoonfuls in a glass of RODI water for a week then 1-2 a week after that to maintain if you notice it dropping

That article discusses low pH problems. Baking soda won't raise the pH appreciably. We'd need alkalinity test results to help much more. Also, double-checking the pH tester is often very informative.

yeah good idea I must add that the tank is in week 4 of cycle as far as alkalinity tes I do not have one yet

Well, if there's decay going on, that'll lower the pH. I would just ignore the problem, especially since there's no alkalinity number.
