Pump to suck water from Overflow?

Can a pump be used to quickly suck the water out of the overflow thus increaseing the amount of water it can handle?

In a word - NO. Output has to equal input. Trying to balance 2 pumps ( one return and one supply) is next to impossible.

If you don't have enough flow from the over flow try opening the slots in overflow w/exacto knife.

That is if it is a built in over flow

We have all tried diff things w/the same results - flooded floor.

I plan on using a ball valve on my return pump anyway...therefore i could adjust the flow. So i still am wondering if you can put a pump inside or sucking from below the overflow?
