Hello all. I've got a question for you engineers out there. I bought a 90 gal stand for my 45 gal tank because my sump was too long to fit under a 45 gal stand. My lfs guy said that would be fine, but now I'm starting to get worried. The tank dimensions are 36"x12", the stand is 48"x18". My tank is sitting on the far left side of the stand, not directly in the middle. My question is, should I add an additional brace to the rear middle of the stand? If so, how do you reccomend I do it? There is one center brace at the front of the stand. The tank has been up and running for a month now and I don't want to tear it down. Thx alot to all who reply.

I'm guessing that the stand has a piece of wood going across the whole top? (like plywood or something..prolly a little nicer tho?)
if so, i would definatley put something additional, because ideally, none of the weight really sits on the top of the stand..you want it all on the edges, which is where the stand is supported (by the sides of the stand) if the tank is just sitting in the middle of the stand, there's nothing underneith really, besides the flat plywood or whatever, so i'd think it would just fall thru..too risky imo..
dont know how to do the bracing tho..try diy forum
