Sand-sifting seastar

Okay, I recently aquired a sand sifting star. I'm hearing good bad and ugly about them. I have a 4" DSB. Are they good for stirring up the sand or will they eat everything in it? Yay or nay on the sand sifting stars?

Your star will likely eat all the animals out of the sandbed and then starve to death, if it's a true sandsifting star. That's by far the most common report on them, which makes sense, given the biology involved.
