Here he is today, all happy and huge.
He's been looking about 8 inches across, but today he was bigger looking than ever, at least 10 inches if not 12!

This is what I started with.

Quick backstory.

Poor guy was upset from being in a state of upheaval for a week while the tank was being pulled down. I have no information on the lighting or feeding it had before I got it because the main tank caretaker was sick and couldn't come talk to me.
I took it because I was the last one to pick up livestock and he said he was draining the tank that night and no one took the anemone, so it was going to have to die. :(
So I took it.

Today we've got a nice healthy beast of an anemone. Too bad my clowns don't look at my RBTA or my new LTA as an appropriate host. They believe that the overflows and return flows are the best place to live. Whatever, one of these days they'll figure it out.

Mouth closeup.

Full anemone shot.

Full tank shot. Look at how big that monster is! I've got 120 gallon tank with measurements of 48x24x24 and he takes up a good amount of the front of the tank.

That's all for today.
Thank you.

My clowns took a few month before they hosted in my LTA (they prefered the Ginapora) and it took them about 8 months before they started getting near my BTA.

I heard that if you put a picture of a clownfish (or that feeding clip) near the anemone you will encourage them to host as they will see other 'clowns' hosting there.

I've never tried it - but could be worth a try.

I tried it. Didn't work.
I put the clippie thing there, and they didn't care.
I put a picture of a clownfish twice their size on the opposite side of the tank, hoping I could scare them into the RBTA and that didn't work either.
It probably doesn't help that I don't think that they've ever seen an anemone and I don't even know how they lived through the last year that their old owners had cancelled their aquarium service.
Oh well, doesn't matter. I'm sure one day they will surprise me and both be in the nems.

Yep,
I started feeding him a quarter of a silverside three to four times a week and now he's taking half a siverside three to four times a week. He ate on his second day in the tank and hasn't wandered at all. He's really getting nice and happy. Just waiting for those tentacles to grow larger. The RBTA I've got is getting a quarter of a silver twice a week since he's nice and established and still on the small side.
I particularly like feeding him when I've got company because of how quickly he consumes his food and what a good viewing spot he's in, he always impresses everyone.

Thanks everyone!
