Does the photoeye of the osmolater mount IN the tank or on the outside looking thru the glass?

I ask because I keep my water level up to the plastic trim and wonder if the eye will be able to mount close to it.

the optical sensor mounts inside the tank so it must be in the water to sense the water level, In short when no water is in contact with the pointy end the osmolater assumes low water level when the pointy end is sugmerged it assume correct level.

Work very well

It goes in the tank on the water level

IMO, its an accident waiting to happen if you have the water level at the plastic rim. Not much room for error, and no place to put the upper level float switch.
